Classes & Workshops:
I will be working outside the Barrie area for much of 2010, so I will not be offering any classes or workshops until November of this year. Upon my return I hope to be offering classes and coachings at the Cingolani Academy for Music & the Performing Arts in Barrie. These courses will be updated as my plans firm up. Please check this page often for updates.
Renee Cingolani has encouraged me to offer two new classes to her students, and students of
all ages who are new to the Cingolani Academy. The course is titled ACTING FOR THE STAGE with Scott A. Hurst

(Young People ages 12 - 18 and Adults ages 19 and above).

If you have
any requests for classes and training please don't hesitate to contact
me or Renee about things that interest you including Audition
Preparation & Technique, Training for the Director, Training for
the Producer, Monologue Preparation and Scene Study.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am still offering private coaching for those interested in audition preparation and/or monologue work. The rate for private coaching is $40.00 per session, and each session lasts 60 minutes.
Although I don't follow one particular method of teaching I am influenced by the work of Uta Hagen and Stella Adler to a degree. I highly recommend reading Uta Hagen's book "A Challenge for the Actor" or her earlier "Respect for Acting". Both give excellent tips on how to prepare yourself for auditions and how to create a role for performance or class work.
